Peppol May Release 2023
We inform you that the updates related to the May Release 2023 of OpenPeppol have been published. These updates include several changes, whose entire release notes are available at the following addresses:

These updates will be mandatory starting from 7th August 2023, nevertheless we advise to implement these changes in time and to download the schematron for the validation of the updated documents. The current documentation, accessible until 6th August 2023, is available at the following addresses:

Changes to specification (Documentation)
- BIS Order Only, BIS Ordering – Section 6.4. Product identification has been integrated with the indication of the Manufacturers item identification;
- BIS Order Only, BIS Ordering – Section 6.14. Other references has been integrated with the indication of the Catalogue reference at header level;
- BIS Order Only, BIS Ordering – Section 6.16. Delivery has been integrated with a description of the method for indicating the priority required by the Buyer for delivery;
- BIS Order Only, BIS Ordering – Examples have been updated according to syntax changes.
Syntax changes
- Order Only
- Added cac:CatalogueReference – Catalogue Reference as an optional header-level structure;
- Added cbc:ShippingPriorityLevelCode - Requested shipping priority as an optional field of the cac:Shipment structure;
- Added cbc:StartTime – Start time and cbc:EndTime – End time as optional fields of the cac:RequestedDeliveryPeriod line-level structure;
- Added cac:ManufacturersItemIdentification – Producer item identification as an optional line-level structure.
- Ordering
- Added cbc:StartTime – Start time and cbc:EndTime – End time as optional fields of the cac:PromisedDeliveryPeriod line-level structure.
Changes to code lists and validation artifacts
- Added code list Transport service priority code (UNCL4219) to indicate the shipping priority requested;
- Rule PEPPOL-COMMON-R050 for the validation of the “Australian Business number (ABN)” was changed from “warning” to “fatal”;
- Added EAS codes 0221 (Japan) and 0230 (Malaysia). Removed the EAS Swedish code 9955;
- Added ICD codes 0221 (Japan), 0222, 0223 (France), 0224 (France), 0225 (France), 0226 (France), 0227 (France), 0228 (France), 0229 (France), 0230 (Malaysia);
- Added the code EMD to the code list Item type identification code (UNCL7143) to indicate the Medical Device identifier as in the European Medical Device Nomenclature (EMDN).

Country Specific Rule Changes
- Removed rules GR-R-007-1, GR-R-007-2 and GR-R-007-3;
- Changed application context in rules GR-R-004-1 and GR-R-004-2. These rules do not apply anymore when the Tax Representative is Greek;
- Added rule GR-R-011 to make the Greek Tax Identification Number mandatory for the Supplier;
- Renamed rule GR-R-011 to GR-S-011 and changed from “fatal” to “warning”.
